HODGE Engineering, working for Trane, provided a detailed energy study for 26 locations within the Maury County School System including 21 schools & associated portable classrooms, Central Office, and Maintenance Building for a total of 986,054 square feet. Lighting, Mechanical, Plumbing and Building Envelope were considered for Energy Conservation Measures. From the inspections and evaluations of the existing facilities, HODGE Engineering has calculated a potential savings of $771,018 per year for the school system from the suggested Energy Conservation Measures.
Energy Conservation Measures suggested to achieve the majority of the savings include:
- Networked Control Systems
- Water Conservation
- HVAC Upgrades and HVAC Controls
- Lighting Upgrades and Lighting Controls
- Building Envelope
These measures chosen to be implemented by the school system will be paid for over time by the savings generated.
